Fully 85% of Galena is a National Register Historic District. Here you will find examples of 19th Century architecture, including Federal, Italiante, Greek Revival, Queen Anne, Gothic Revival, Second Empire, Romanesque Revival and Galena Vernacular. Many of the buildings bear zinc plaques explaining their history. Beautiful and romantic best describe Galena's landscape and architecture.
